The DFW Pest Problem
Texas weather creates the perfect environment for pests. Hot summers drive scorpions and spiders indoors looking for cool, dark spaces.
Mild winters mean rodents stay active year-round instead of dying off. Humidity keeps roach populations thriving in kitchens and bathrooms.
And it’s not just the weather. DFW’s rapid growth means new construction constantly disturbs existing pest habitats. Fire ant colonies get displaced and move into yards. Rodents lose their outdoor shelter and find their way into attics and garages. The sprawl pushes wildlife closer to neighborhoods.
This isn’t a problem you can ignore. Pests don’t leave on their own. They establish themselves, reproduce, and spread. A small problem in January becomes a major infestation by March.

Common Questions...
What do I need to do before the exterminator arrives?
The contractor’s going to want to see where you’re seeing pests, so don’t go crazy cleaning or rearranging before they get there. That said, clearing a path helps.
If roaches are in the kitchen, make sure they can get under the sink and behind the stove. If you’ve got rodent activity in the attic, make sure the access panel isn’t blocked by storage boxes.
How much does pest control cost?
Pricing varies based on the pest type, severity of the infestation, size of your home, and the treatment approach. The contractor will assess your situation and typically provides a same-day quote before starting any work
Do I need to be home during treatment?
That depends on the treatment type and the contractor’s process. They’ll let you know what’s required when you discuss the job. Some treatments require you to leave temporarily. Others don’t.
What do I do with my pet during treatment?
Most treatments require pets to be out of the treatment area until products dry. Usually that’s about 30 minutes to a couple hours depending on what’s being applied.
Your contractor will give you specific instructions based on what products they’re using. They deal with this every day. Just ask before they start, and they’ll tell you exactly what to do.
